Easy-Peasy Japanese+ Recipe with Ayaka

Microwave Chicken Char siu – チキンチャーシュー

This particular recipe is such a gamechanger…! Do you know Char siu? It’s usually on the top of ramen but also on the rice. This recipe using microwave and takes only 7min!🚀

4~5 PERSON

  • 2lbs Chicken thighs
  • Sauce:
    • 1/3 cup
      • Shoyu
      • Sugar
      • Sake/Cooking wine
    • 2 TBS oyster sauce
    • 1 inch Ginger paste
  1. Open and even out the thickest part of the chicken and prick all over with a fork.
  2. Place in a oven-safe bowl, add sauce and rub well.
  3. Skin side down, place a microwave safe wrap or lid (do not seal 100%, it’ll explode! leave a gap or use a silicon lid) over the chicken , but be sure not putting it tightly, and cook in a 600W microwave oven for 6 min.
  4. Let it cool down then bite into bite size.
  5. Enjoy with ramen or rice, or maybe arepas or tacos!
