Salmon Onigiri – 鮭おにぎり

Good enough! We miss variety of seafood in Japan but Salmon in North America taste amazing. Let’s make some Onigiri 🍙

  • 4 pieces of salmon
  • salt
  1. Sear the salmon: Place the frozen salmon fillets directly in a frying pan and cook over medium heat.
  2. Steam: Pour 2 tablespoons sake around the salmon, cover with a lid, and steam over low heat.
  3. Flip and season: Once the surface of the salmon turns white/opaque, flip it over, remove the lid, and season with 1 teaspoons salt. Sear over medium heat.
  4. Finish: Cook for about 2 minutes until nicely browned — and it’s done! Eat with rice, or make onigiri with it!
